Cities, districts, and influence
This article's status describes its scope. See development status for current limits.
A settlement belongs to a political and cultural world, with institutions behind its streets.
More than a skyline#
A city's identity includes its region, biome, owner, controlling faction, government, security, and economy. A great capital and a frontier town should differ in structure and relevance, not merely in the count of buildings.
Read the districts#
Markets can express guilds, caravan houses, smugglers, and other commercial powers. Temple districts expose religious legitimacy and forbidden pressure. Noble districts host rival claims; military districts carry garrisons and patrol institutions. Residential districts can hold both ordinary life and hidden influence.
Nova Aeterna#
Nova Aeterna is the great capital of Umbra Magni. Its setting direction emphasizes formal civic order, monumental districts, archives, court and palace institutions, barracks, and religious authority. Its importance is political as well as architectural.
Who really holds a place?#
Legal ownership, military control, and local influence need not be identical. Small factions may matter through a gate, shrine, dock, road, building, or hidden route without ruling an entire realm. The public faction entries give these institutions names and histories; active-world control belongs to the simulation.
