The Sultanate of Akesh - The Solar Dominion

Public lore preserves the setting's disagreements and uncertain histories.

Radiance as State Power#

Akesh's rise depends on having made sunlight governable. Solar Houses, mirror collegia, vault custodians, and port emirates together turned radiance into administration, defense, medicine, prestige, and trade. Akesh therefore feels newer than the empire without being rootless. It is old desert civilization sharpened by technical confidence.

Cities, Society, and Biomes#

Cities such as Samirath, Hadrun al-Sha, and Veyr al-Nur anchor Akeshi maritime and inland networks. Their districts combine shade law, water discipline, and light storage in ways outsiders often mistake for effortless elegance. The Prism Deserts are deadly laboratories of reflected noon. Glass-Domed Groves allow climate management at urban scale. Sunvault Ruins preserve older generations of light storage with sometimes catastrophic leakage. White Silence Flats blunt sound beneath irradiated glare. Vermilion Night Reefs tie maritime danger to old battle magic and coral growth.

Akesh is the southern desert and littoral power that rose most dramatically after the western collapse. Its distinct contribution to civilization is solar sorcery: the capture, storage, redirection, and use of light as urban infrastructure, political power, sacred symbolism, and war asset. Akesh is radiant, mercantile, ambitious, and increasingly modern by the standards of the age.

Its landscapes include Prism Deserts, Glass-Domed Groves, Sunvault Ruins, White Silence Flats, and Vermilion Night Reefs. Akesh venerates Nura most strongly but is far from simplistic; its ports, colleges, and solar houses are fertile ground for scholars, engineers, mystics, merchants, and opportunists.
