Humanoids
Reference tables contain changeable development values.
Never underestimate a goblin. Individually, they are nuisances. In numbers, with a shaman behind them, they have sacked baronies.
Humanoid adversaries are among the most common threats in the Unbound Realms. Unlike mindless monsters, they employ tactics, use equipment, and organize into social structures that range from primitive war-bands to sophisticated tribal hierarchies. The following entries cover hostile humanoid factions commonly encountered as adversaries.
Goblins#
| Name | Level | Size | HP | Notable Abilities |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Goblin Warrior | -1 | Small | 6 | Scurry; goblin scuttle; crude weapon |
| Goblin Archer | 0 | Small | 10 | Shortbow; nimble escape; darkvision |
| Goblin Shaman | 1 | Small | 15 | Fire spells; hex; tribal buffs |
| Goblin Chieftain | 3 | Small | 38 | Rally cry; improved weapon; tactical cunning; bodyguard retinue |
Goblins are the most numerous hostile humanoid species in the Aurelian Reach. They breed rapidly, adapt to almost any environment, and display a chaotic creativity in trap-building and ambush tactics. A goblin war-band led by a chieftain with shaman support can threaten small settlements, and their fondness for fire makes them particularly destructive when they gain access to alchemical supplies.
Kobolds#
| Name | Level | Size | HP | Notable Abilities |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kobold Warrior | -1 | Small | 6 | Trap affinity; sneak attack; darkvision; dragon affinity |
Kobolds are small, reptilian humanoids who claim draconic ancestry. They compensate for individual weakness with elaborate trap networks, overwhelming numbers, and a fanatical devotion to any dragon willing to claim them as servants. Kobold warrens are among the most trap-dense environments an adventurer can enter, and the creatures are expert miners capable of collapsing tunnels on intruders.
